How much does a sprinkler system cost? Get your estimate in 1 minute
Enter the rough size of your front yard, backyard, side yards and garden beds. In seconds you see what a complete sprinkler system would cost, so you know if it fits your budget. No sign-up needed.

Measure roughly with your steps: one big step is about 3 ft. Remove any area you don't have.
2Your sprinkler layout
We picked the right sprinkler type for each area. Each dot is a sprinkler head; the coloured circle is where it waters.
Your watering plan (peak summer)
Calculated from each zone's real watering rate. Your Wi-Fi controller and rain sensor cut this back automatically in cooler or rainy weeks.
3Photos (optional)
Add photos of each side of the house. We use them with your measurements to draw the final head and pipe layout. Exact sizes plus photos give the most accurate design.
- Front of house: from the sidewalk, with the full width of the house and front yard in frame.
- Backyard: from two opposite corners, so slopes, trees and the patio are visible.
- Side yards: the strip between house and fence, where the main line usually runs.
- Water connection: the outside tap and the water entry/meter inside, if you can reach it.

How this estimate is calculated
- Sprinkler performance: radius and flow for every arc (90°, 180°, 270°, 360°) from Hunter's official MP Rotator and PGP-ADJ charts [1][2][3], read at the pressure each zone really gets, not the catalogue maximum.
- Hydraulics: pressure loss in the main line, the zone valve (Hunter PGV chart) and the lateral pipes is calculated for every zone (Hazen-Williams). Starting from the pressure at the water connection (3 bar / 43.5 PSI until we measure yours), we check the pressure at the last head and size the heads to it.
- Pipe sizing: water speed stays at or below 5 ft/s in every pipe. Where a zone carries more than a 3/4" pipe can take, the first part of that line is 1".
- Head-to-head coverage: heads are spaced at 90% of their real throw at the working pressure, so coverage holds in Toronto's summer winds [4].
- Matched precipitation: sprays, rotors, strips and drip are never mixed in one zone. Rotor nozzles are chosen so quarter, half and full circles put down the same amount of water (1 : 2 : 4 flow).
- Zone size: each zone stays within your water supply, 10 GPM on a 3/4" service and 13 GPM on a 1" service [5].
- Watering schedule: from peak summer water use in Toronto (design 5 mm/day, turf factor 0.8, beds 0.5), each zone's precipitation rate and the Irrigation Association scheduling multiplier for its distribution uniformity. Clay soils get short cycles so water soaks in instead of running off.
- Prices: SiteOne Canada contractor prices, October 2026 [6]. Labour $250 per worker-day. Ontario HST 13%.
- Our field experience: install time, 8% extra pipe, 10% material waste and 5% contingency. That is why we show a price range. Water pressure and flow are confirmed at the free site visit.

Backflow prevention is required
Under the Ontario Building Code, an irrigation system that is connected to the drinking-water supply must have an approved backflow preventer, so sprinkler water can never flow back into your home's water. It is not included in this estimate. We will confirm the right device for your home at the free site visit and quote it separately. Some municipalities also require it to be tested by a certified tester. Read our backflow prevention guide.
